The Vancouver Vandals turned back the Buffalo Surge, 8-7, at The Thunderdome. Enrique von Caliente, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Vancouver reliever Lucas Greep picked up the win to move to 2-0. Paj Bobba suffered the loss. Vancouver is now 30-19, Buffalo 15-34.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Vancouver. That's when Akshay Hrishikesh hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Paj Bobba to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Vancouver manager .
