Surge Need Extra Innings to Top Vandals, 5-4
|
The Buffalo Surge outlasted the Vancouver Vandals, 5-4, in 11 innings. Buffalo first baseman Mark Honcho stood out with his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Paj Bobba picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jackson Kidd took the loss. The win gives the Surge a record of 3-3.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Honcho hit a curveball from Jackson Kidd for a run-scoring double. The Surge, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Buffalo manager .
