The Cancun Toros racked up a win at El Coliseo de los Toros, bumping off the Detroit Demons, 5-2. Usada Pekora, who started for Cancun, pitched effectively for his team. Pekora got the win, improving to 8-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Pekora allowed 2 runs. Roquefort Cotswald closed it out for his 7th save.

Victor Cortez drove in one run for Cancun. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Hercules Mulligan. It was his 27th RBI of the season.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Cortez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The victory gives the Toros a record of 32-18.
