The Detroit Demons defeated the Cancun Toros by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Waxillium Summers. Summers went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk for the Demons on the day. Detroit reliever Thorne Belfour picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kelly Brandt was saddled with the loss. With the loss, Cancun drops to 4-2.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Zak Johnson III to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Demons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

After the game, Detroit manager applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
