Stars Drop Aviators, 5-3, with Late Score
|
The first-place Nashville Stars picked up another win.
Bobby Briggs left his imprint on the 5-3 Nashville win against the Outer Banks Aviators. Briggs, who finished 5th in the Champions in OPS with .877 in 2078, went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. The Stars improved to a lofty 36-15.
Briggs had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Chudigal Son, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. It was the 19th double of the year for Briggs.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Briggs told the Nashville Daily, "and we played pretty well tonight."
