The Death Valley Scorpions besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Outer Banks left fielder Patrick Eshenbaugh by beating the Aviators, 11-8, at The Island. Eshenbaugh went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Cy Duck was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 6 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and no strikeouts. The Aviators have now dropped 5 straight.

Launch Angle hit a 2-run double off Joseph Mathys Hendry in the top of the third, which put the Scorpions in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Angle had 1 single, while going 2 for 6.

Angle told a Death Valley Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
