The Vancouver Vandals got a strong performance from pitcher Andy Beans, who stymied the Death Valley offense en route to a win, 6-2, at The Thunderdome. Alejandro Abasi earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 6-3. The Vandals have an impressive 38-15 record.
The Vandals got a big at-bat from third baseman Ashton Lansdell. For the game, Lansdell was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 15th double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
Lansdell attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
