The Florida Flamingos handed the Puerto Rico Ranas a sound defeat, 12-0, at Florida Man Park. Luca was a main contributor to the win. He went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 and driving in 3 for Florida. Moe Mentum picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 3-0. The Ranas, now 4-13, continue their slow start.
The Flamingos got a big boost from third baseman Atlas Sluggs who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Ranas hurler Jean Girard [BOT]. It was his 8th walk of the season and put Florida on top, 1-0.
Florida manager commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
