Swift Steeds Fall Short, 3-2, at Brew City
|
The Bears grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Tap House, overcoming a fine effort from State College pitcher Maddog Thornberry. Thornberry went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Kenny DeNunez recorded his 4th save for Brew City. The win puts Brew City at 9-9.
The Bears got a big hit from left fielder Xicoyotl Montalbán. In the bottom of the sixth, Montalbán smacked a 2-run home run off State College pitcher Maddog Thornberry. It was his 3rd home run of the season. Suddenly, the Bears were ahead, 3-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Montalbán told the Brew City News.
