Wheelers Suffer 4-2 Setback
|
The State College Swift Steeds defeated the Anchorage Wheelers, 4-2. Doing his part was first baseman Peter Dawson III, who went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Chicken Noods was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed no runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Gabriel Priest picked up the save for State College, his 6th of the year.
The Swift Steeds got a big at-bat from center fielder Akshay Hrishikesh. For the game, Hrishikesh went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave State College a 2-0 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hrishikesh said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
State College goes to 13-6 with the win.
