The first-place Louisville Lemurs took on the Kansas City Hepcats in front of a spirited crowd.

The Louisville Lemurs faced a tough opponent in Kansas City pitcher FireBob Nutting, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle by a final score of 4-3. Nutting went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Hank Hill sewed up the save, his 4th.

Had Diego Machado not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Machado hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Lemurs.

Kansas City manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

The Lemurs, now 14-6, have been on a roll in the early going.
