Wheelers Pick Up 4-0 Win Over California
Anchorage starter Willie MacDougal put a stranglehold on the California offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Wheelers to a 4-0 win. MacDougal went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-0. California is 8-12 after the defeat.

The Firehawks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Wheelers going into the top of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Stephen McCloud came to the plate. McCloud hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 changeup from California hurler Heckit WeBall. It was McCloud's 1st home run of the year.
