Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old first baseman Cameron Squires, the Anchorage Wheelers stopped the Amarillo Armadillos, 5-1, in 9 innings. The Wheelers with just their 6th win in 21 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Anchorage used the timely hitting of Slime Sluggerton to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wheelers on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Squires said his team "played with determination."
