Flamingos Slap 8-2 Loss on Amarillo
|
The timely hitting of Homer Simpson helped the Florida Flamingos down the Amarillo Armadillos, 8-2. Simpson went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Flamingos. The winning pitcher was Justin Izzo. He's now 2-1. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Flamingos. Getting the save was Saint Pete [BOT], his 1st.
Florida grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Simpson hit a 2-run home run off Kaitlyn Montreal. His 5th home run of the season put the Flamingos out in front, 3-1.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Simpson.
By defeating Amarillo, the first-place Flamingos improved to 14-8.
