Big Day for Giannoulas as Scorpions Down Sloths, 8-4
|
Ted Giannoulas made an impact in the 8-4 Death Valley win over San Antonio. Giannoulas, who finished 2nd in the Champions in slugging percentage with .617 in 2065, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Always A. Bummus was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. San Antonio is 3-4 after the loss.
Giannoulas contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Death Valley in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Giannoulas took a circle change from Mike Boss III and stroked the home run to left. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Scorpions to leap in front, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Giannoulas. "And not try to do too much."
