In a low-scoring clash between Florida and California, pitcher Stu Macher was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Florida reliever Rafferty Holman got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jackson Kidd was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Florida a record of 12-10.
Had Spinosaurus Bill not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bill hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Flamingos.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Macher said.
