Summers Powers Flamingos to 6-3 Win
Florida and Amarillo duked it out and the Flamingos came out victorious.

Florida catcher Waxillium Summers contributed to his team's 6-3 win over the Amarillo Armadillos. Summers, who is rated as the 11th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Flamingos. Jay Kirkpatrick, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held the Armadillos to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2.

Summers had a timely hit for Florida in the top of the sixth. With Amarillo trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-2, Florida.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Summers told the Florida Chronicle.

Florida now has a record of 15-8 with the win.
