Agrippa Excels, But Bears Win
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Brew City Bears outlasted Cassius Agrippa and the State College Swift Steeds , 9-7. Agrippa was impressive in the loss. The State College right fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Fletcher Jones got the win, improving to 4-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Bryce Wheeler closed it out for his 1st save.
Patrick Eshenbaugh, the 21-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Eshenbaugh contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Brew City up, 5-3.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Eshenbaugh told the Brew City Chronicle.
The win for the Bears raised their record to 16-8.
