Due in large part to left fielder Theodore Batsmith, the California Firehawks sunk the Chicago Kingpins, 9-2. Batsmith was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The triumph puts California at 15-9 for the season.

Goro Majima helped out the California cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 2 with a walk, while scoring 2 times.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Majima told the California News.
