Kansas City took on Anchorage in front of a lively crowd.

The timely hitting of Bookie Metts helped the Kansas City Hepcats down the Anchorage Wheelers, 8-4. Metts was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Hepcats. Antone Ridgeford, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Gibson Doubleneck to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hepcats ahead, 7-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
