Lemurs Take Tight Tangle
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Louisville Lemurs withstood an impressive performance by Florida center fielder Ozzy Batty to defeat the Flamingos, 5-4, at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle. Batty went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Hank Hill, now 2-4, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Samuel Sheeping, who is tied for 4th in the MiLPBE in RBI with 21, hit a run-scoring single. The Lemurs went on to win.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Sheeping.
The victory gives the Lemurs a record of 16-9.
