Floundering Kingpins Lose 6th Straight
|
The 6-3 Puerto Rico win over Chicago was due largely to Pcott Soe. The Ranas first baseman was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Jerry Berry. He is now 1-1. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The last-place Kingpins have lost 6 straight games.
Puerto Rico used the clutch hitting of Back Stop to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ranas ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Puerto Rico manager .
