Wheelers Roll Over Bears, 9-4
|
The Anchorage Wheelers weathered a fine game by Brew City left fielder Xicoyotl Montalbán to upend the Bears, 9-4, at The Tap House. Montalbán was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Thunder Miller, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 1. Cam Maddux earned save number 1 this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Walker Texas-Ranger? The Anchorage designated hitter had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wheelers on top, 5-3. For the game, Texas-Ranger had 1 double and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.
