|
State College pitcher Kris Rice had a large part in his team subduing the Anchorage Wheelers, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Valente Martinez earned save number 2 this season. The Swift Steeds improved to a lofty 19-8.
Had Finn Lincoln not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Lincoln hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Swift Steeds .
"I still think this team can play even better," Lincoln told the State College Chronicle.
