Bears Stay Hot, Beat Ranas, 7-5
|
Brew City designated hitter Danny Burgers helped his team beat the Puerto Rico Ranas, 7-5. Burgers, who is tied for 10th in the MiLPBE in extra base hits with 9, went 3 for 5 for the Bears. Brew City reliever Lots-o'-Heineken Bear got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Dr. LBG was tagged with the loss. Winnie the Pabst closed the door for Brew City, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Burgers contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Brew City in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Burgers took a circle change from Ottov Yeoj and stroked the home run to right-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Bears to leap in front, 5-3.
"We'll savor this win," Burgers told the Brew City Today, "then get ready for the next game."
Puerto Rico has now lost 5 consecutive games.
