The California Firehawks defeated the Puerto Rico Ranas, 9-2, at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium today. Leading the charge for California was third baseman Hector Rocha. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. California reliever Tahini Lord picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Batting Practice was saddled with the loss. Puerto Rico's current losing streak has reached 6 games.

With California leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Rocha hit a cutter from Batting Practice for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Firehawks ahead, 7-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Rocha.
