The Amarillo Armadillos defeated the Kansas City Hepcats, 8-5. Doing his part was first baseman Bill Slamsquatch, who was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Amarillo reliever Matt Hunter picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Definitelynot Kevinchoate took the loss. The win gives Amarillo a season record of 22-6.

Amarillo won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Definitelynot Kevinchoate on the mound for Kansas City, catcher Lestat de Lioncourt hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Armadillos fans to their feet.
