Swift Steeds Get One-Run Win at Puerto Rico
The State College Swift Steeds had to overcome a fine effort from Puerto Rico pitcher Ottov Yeoj to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium. Yeoj went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Billy Jones. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Kyle Johnson earned the save for State College, his 1st of the year.

Exo Cortal, the 23-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cortal contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning to put State College up, 2-1.

"It was a solid team effort," said Cortal after the game.

The Ranas, now 9-19, have lost 4 in a row.
