Bears Win, 5-1, Versus Flamingos

The Brew City Bears got a rain-soaked win over the Florida Flamingos.
The Brew City Bears withstood an impressive performance by Florida left fielder Chase Hunter to defeat the Flamingos, 5-1, at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. Hunter was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Lots-o'-Heineken Bear got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. Erik Mander finished the game for Brew City and earned his 1st save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Erik Mander didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Florida trailing 2-1, Mander retired Dexter Jackson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Mander, with a wink.
The win puts Brew City at 15-14 this season.
