Puerto Rico Ranas starter Batting Practice [BOT] pitched his team past the Anchorage Wheelers, 5-2. Puerto Rico reliever Jerry Berry [BOT] picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Jiggs Kingman was tagged with the loss. The last-place Ranas own a record of 6-24.
San Juan, Puerto Rico-born Cal Naughton Jr. [BOT] came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Ranas trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Puerto Rico on top.
"Batting did what Batting does," said Puerto Rico manager .
