Swift Steeds Roll to 8-1 Win Over Kingpins
|
No one was more impactful than Manny Alou in the 8-1 State College win over Chicago. Alou, who is tied for 4th in the MiLPBE in triples with 1, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Picking up the win was PK-VS. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. With the win, State College pushed its record to 17-12.
The Swift Steeds got a big at-bat from left fielder Edward Mackinlay. For the game, Mackinlay went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave State College a 3-1 lead.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Mackinlay.
