Firehawks 6-3 Winners Over Kansas City
|
California starter Ingrid Keelhauler pitched well against the Kansas City Hepcats at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Keelhauler, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. California is now 15-15, Kansas City 16-14.
The Hepcats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Firehawks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Slim Mahogany came to the plate. Mahogany hit a 2-run double on a full count knuckle curve from Kansas City hurler FireBob Nutting. It was Mahogany's 6th double of the year.
"It never gets old," said Keelhauler. "Winning, that is."
