Firehawks Victorious at Brew City, 6-5
|
A good performance from right fielder Coleman Carver helped the California Firehawks defeat the Brew City Bears, 6-5. Carver was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Firehawks. The winner was Dr. Hubert Malbec, who threw 96 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. Chadison Bumgardener nailed down the save.
With California leading 4-1 in the top of the sixth, Carver hit a 2-run single off Brew City hurler Joseph Kelley. It was the 20th hit of the season for Carver and put his team ahead, 6-1.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Carver.
California is now 13-17, Brew City 19-11.
