Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Florida Flamingos got the win.
Florida Flamingos starter Stetson Mixon found his groove in his team's 4-2 win over the State College Swift Steeds . Mixon picked up the win for Florida, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Jimmy Key-Largo [BOT] closed the game out for Florida, earning his 1st save.
The Flamingos got a big at-bat from left fielder McScootie Fortune. For the game, Fortune was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Florida a 2-1 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Fortune told the Florida Times.
Today's win puts Florida at 19-11, while State College falls to 15-15.
