Flamingos Stick Hepcats with 5-3 Loss
|
The Florida Flamingos topped the Kansas City Hepcats by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Link Althouse. Althouse went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Flamingos. The win was credited to Barry Balls in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Kanye West took the loss. Florida, at 19-11, occupies first place in the East Division.
Althouse had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Kanye West, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Flamingos a 5-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Althouse.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Althouse told the Florida Observer.
