Anchorage Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
The Florida Flamingos and Anchorage Wheelers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Starting pitcher Doc Rock gave the Florida Flamingos a rock-solid effort. The Las Vegas, Nevada native helped his team defeat the Anchorage Wheelers, 3-1, at Florida Man Park. Rock, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. Saint Pete [BOT] picked up his 3rd save of the season.
Luca, who is tied for 8th in the MiLPBE in doubles with 6, chipped in a 2-run home run for Florida in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Doc is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Florida manager .
The win elevated the Flamingos to 18-13.
