Scorpions Trounce Vandals, 11-3
|
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Ted Giannoulas, who finished 3rd in the Champions in RBI with 96 in 2065, led the Death Valley Scorpions to a win over the Vancouver Vandals, 11-3. The winning pitcher was Guy Roussy. His record is now 2-0. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Scorpions. The win has Death Valley at 5-3.
The Scorpions got a big at-bat from center fielder Yvonne Escence. For the game, Escence went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Death Valley a 5-2 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Giannoulas, "and today was a good one for us."
