Firehawks Deal Puerto Rico 7-4 Defeat
|
The California Firehawks knocked off the Puerto Rico Ranas, 7-4, at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Jean-Jacques François Jacques-Jean Jr. was a big reason California won. The second baseman was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chadison Bumgardener closed the door for California, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Firehawks go to 13-20 with the win.
The Firehawks got a big at-bat from third baseman Rafael Furcal Jr. For the game, Furcal Jr was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave California a 3-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Jacques-Jean Jr. told a California Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
