Brew City Upended by Amarillo, 4-1
|
Ray Kwaza pitched a gem to lead Amarillo to victory over the Brew City Bears, 4-1. In 7.1 innings, Kwaza surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Brett Dusinberre picked up the save, his 3rd.
The Armadillos got a big at-bat from third baseman Gary Love. For the game, Love was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Amarillo a 2-0 lead.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Love.
Amarillo sits in third place in the West Division at 16-17.
