Swift Steeds Take Down Hepcats, 5-4
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Thomas Saint-John, the Kansas City Hepcats lost to the State College Swift Steeds , 5-4. Saint-John was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. State College pitcher Bibi Kimura earned the win, hiking his record to 3-5. Porygon Two suffered the loss. Cass Silskrumblin collected his 3rd save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dalton Rose? The 22-year old first baseman Rose stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put State College up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rose said after the game.
State College is now 17-16.
