Hepcats Sneak By Armadillos, 4-3
|
The Kansas City Hepcats did just enough to secure a victory over the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-3, at The Burrow Presented by the PBE Bigger Strange Pod. Nobody did more than pitcher Taylor Adkins. Kansas City reliever Jose O'Reily picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Trongle Man absorbed the loss. Yes, it was a win for Kansas City; but their 11-22 mark is nothing to crow about.
Kansas City needed the clutch hitting of Cason Warwick to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hepcats on top, 4-3. For the game, Warwick had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Warwick said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
