Manny Alou had a 3-RBI game, during State College's 9-3 triumph over the Puerto Rico Ranas. Alou contributed 1 single and 1 home run to the cause. Maddog Thornberry got the win, improving to 1-3. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Blain K'Spais finished to wrap up his 5th save.

Edward Mackinlay dealt the Ranas a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and State College trailing 3-2, Mackinlay, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, hit a 2-2 slider for a 2-run single.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said State College manager .
