5-3 Win Gets Florida to 17-17
|
The Florida Flamingos beat the Kansas City Hepcats, 5-3. Florida pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Lilo Pelekai led the way. Matt Kumtowski earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 3-0. Florida has now won 5 straight.
Jim Hawkins had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Florida. He came through with a 2-run single to put Florida in front, 3-2.
"It was a good effort all around," said Pelekai.
