Kansas City pitcher FireBob Nutting had a large part in his team beating the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner in relief was Jofre Pines. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Kansas City is now 20-15, Amarillo 12-23.

In the bottom of the 6th, designated hitter Dominique Castillon gave Kansas City the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Hepcats had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Amarillo pitcher Serina Elmer [BOT] changed that -- and Kansas City went on to win.
