Armadillos Earn 3-2 Home Win
|
The Amarillo Armadillos eked out a 3-2 win versus the Louisville Lemurs at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites. Nobody did more than pitcher Blake Faux III. He was terrific. Faux III, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. Curve Beckham [BOT] got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Making an impact for the home team was Tony Simms Jr. In the bottom of the sixth, the 21-year old left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Armadillos.
"Blake is good at sticking to his strengths," said Amarillo manager .
By defeating Louisville, the last-place Armadillos improved to 13-23.
