Kirkland Helps Kansas City Cruise to 12-3 Win
The Kansas City Hepcats topped the Puerto Rico Ranas, 12-3, with youngster Joe Kirkland playing a key role. Kirkland went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Hepcats in the win. Getting the save was Christian Summers, his 5th. The Kansas City winning streak has reached 3 games.

The Hepcats benefited from an error in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kansas City was leading 1-0 when Homer Slamson hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Kansas City in front, 2-0.
