Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Puerto Rico Ranas and the Amarillo Armadillos. Puerto Rico won it, 2-1. Puerto Rico starter Jean Girard [BOT] was in command. Jerry Berry [BOT] picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Big Rooster, who is the 5th-best prospect in the Armadillos organization, was tagged with the loss. The Ranas go to 3-34 with the win.

Had Votto Joey [BOT] not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Joey [BOT] hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Ranas.
