The Amarillo Armadillos picked up a win at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium, dropping the Chicago Kingpins, 4-3. VJ Edgecombe, who is tied for 7th in the MiLPBE in innings pitched with 61.0, was the difference-maker. With the win, Amarillo upped its record to 19-19.
Gene Waltkins came through with a big-time hit for Amarillo. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This team is capable of getting on a roll," said Amarillo skipper .
