The Amarillo Armadillos beat the State College Swift Steeds , 8-3, at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium. Amarillo left fielder Palin Drome had an outstanding performance. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Takeda Takahashi got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The Armadillos improve their record to 23-17 with the win over State College.

With Amarillo leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Drome hit a fastball from Tim Infinity for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Armadillos ahead, 5-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Drome told the Amarillo Times.
