The Seattle Sea Serpents had to overcome a fine effort from San Antonio pitcher Johnny Tatum to win, 2-1, at The Aquadome. Tatum went 8.1 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Chris Cash. He is now 5-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. By defeating San Antonio, the last-place Sea Serpents improved to 28-25.

Seattle got a knockout punch from Bandit Heeler. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Heeler called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
