Detroit right-hander Shohei Ohtani pitched his team to victory over the Death Valley Scorpions at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Ohtani got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Ohtani allowed 2 runs. Thorne Belfour closed it out for his 7th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Duncan Donuts? The Detroit shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Demons on top, 4-2. For the game, Donuts had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
