The Outer Banks Aviators did just enough to sneak past the Indianapolis Apex, 5-4, at The Island. Outer Banks pitcher Doc Holliday, in particular, had a standout performance. The Aviators, at 33-21, have now won 5 straight.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 26-year old first baseman Rachel Morimura had a chance to be the hero. Indianapolis pitcher Skyler Stevens wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Morimura hit a sacrifice fly. The Aviators had themselves a thrilling win.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Outer Banks manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
