New York designated hitter Moe Scatoes made his presence felt in the 6-3 Voyagers triumph over the Buffalo Surge. Scatoes went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Johnny Patey V2, the winner, improved to 4-5. He held the Surge to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Ransom Jones closed the door for New York, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

The Surge had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Voyagers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old second baseman Yeti Taz came to the plate. Taz hit a 2-run double on a full count screwball from Buffalo hurler Rotgut Whiskey. It was Taz's 12th double of the year.

"We'll savor this win," Taz told the New York Times, "then get ready for the next game."

The Voyagers, at 19-21, sit in third place in the Legends Conference East.
